The head contains the brain, the very organ of reason, which processes information. The head controls every other part of the body. If your head tells your hand to move, movement occurs. Prov23:7 says as a man thinks in his heart so is he. The heart and the mind have a special connection. They work with each other. What controls your mind will influence your heart and ultimately control your life. The helmet of salvation is designed to protect our minds and our whole perspective toward our Christian faith and life. Evil thoughts and imaginations are first conceived in the mind. To put your helmet on is to constantly read, study and meditate on the Word of God. To meditate is to ponder. This means the constant renewal of your thought patterns and mind setting by the Word of God.
