The Hermit In The Devils Clutch It was quiet the moment she broke them, the bonds, removing them first from her heels. Was that grass beneath her? She went on to the head, and with it went the silence. It was then she could hear the charioteers wheels shake, tear, rip and quiver. Followed by the heart, like warm butter those chords split this time. Unlike the branches, across her cheek they slit so fine. She saved the hand for last, her left. Withdrawing, fidelity held her wrists fast. What is the habit that cages you? They spoke with such rhetoric... And the silence began to dawn upon the scene again. But the guide lifted her chin, and let the lamps rays fall into her eyes. Illuminating a bright and vibrant brush, it poured past her face and down the hillside. And she found that very curious. Take the reigns, they whispered. And she did. Dont think about it, they suggested. So she didnt. Just ride . At some point, in the flight, she cast away the blue to let hold of the light. The weightlessness on her feet opened her mind carried forth a freedom into her chest and her hands felt warm. Were they no longer bound at her side? As she reached the valleys, she approached gentle slopes, and at last she could tighten the ropes. ... so she ran. - Nellie Ann
