The Hindu caught up with director Sandhya Kumar to talk about the unconventional short film O Friend, This Waiting! supported by IFA. Justin McCarthy and her collaborator Sandhya Kumar received a grant to research on Kshetrayya padams, the devadasi tradition in South India and to make this film that won a National Award this year Art/Cultural category. for its wholly unconventional investigation of the Devadasi tradition.
