The Holy Day Finale Theres a beautiful symbol of Israel in the Bible. Israel is an olive tree. Paul wrote to the Gentile believers -- as being grafted in to the Olive Tree of Israel. The fullness of the olive tree is linked to the coming salvation of Israel. When does the olive tree blossom? In the Hebrew calendar; it comes in autumn, at the end of the sacred year -- at the time of the Feast of Trumpets. So the Jewish people will come to the Lord at the end of the age -- near the time of Trumpets -- as in Revelation, and the Coming of the Lord. Sharing with the Jewish people is hard, but theres a reason for it. The stakes are high, when they come; He comes. So pray for them, share the gospel with them and keep planting the seeds. The stakes are high, the reward is great, so it takes more sustained effort. Great crowns mean great races. Those things that are most precious are worth the good fight, and the blessing will come in its time just like the Olive Harvest. Mission: Pray for the Nation of Israel, that every man, woman and child, wherever they may be, will proclaim Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord. Romans 10:1-4 10 Brethren, my hearts desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2 For I bearthem record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of Gods righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. Israel Reduced to Religion Believe me, friends, all I want for Israel is what’s best for Israel: salvation, nothing less. I want it with all my heart and pray to God for it all the time. I readily admit that the Jews are impressively energetic regarding God— but they are doing everything exactly backward. They don’t seem to realize that this comprehensive setting-things-right that is salvation is God’s business, and a most flourishing business it is. Right across the street they set up their own salvation shops and noisily hawk their wares. After all these years of refusing to really deal with God on his terms, insisting instead on making their own deals, they have nothing to show for it. The earlier revelation was intended simply to get us ready for the Messiah, who then puts everything right for those who trust him to do it. Moses wrote that anyone who insists on using the law code to live right before God soon discovers it’s not so easy—every detail of life regulated by fine print! But trusting God to shape the right living in us is a different story—no precarious climb up to heaven to recruit the Messiah, no dangerous descent into hell to rescue the Messiah. So what exactly was Moses saying? The word that saves is right here, as near as the tongue in your mouth, as close as the heart in your chest. It’s the word of faith that welcomes God to go to work and set things right for us. This is the core of our preaching. Say the welcoming word to God—“Jesus is my Master”—embracing, body and soul, God’s work of doing in us what he did in raising Jesus from the dead. That’s it. You’re not “doing” anything; you’re simply calling out to God, trusting him to do it for you. That’s salvation. With your whole being you embrace God setting things right, and then you say it, right out loud: “God has set everything right between him and me!” Savor your time If you rush through life, you miss the best parts. Take your time, enjoy your time, savor your time and make rich, meaningful use of it. Instead of rushing to get as much as possible done, take the time to do things the best you possibly can. Instead of racing to finish, enjoy the journey as you create great value along the way. Being effective is not the same as being busy. Just because something is urgent doesn’t mean it’s important. There are many things that can be done quickly, yet have little value. It’s better to invest your time in one thing that really matters than to waste it on a dozen things that don’t. Let go of the need to skim quickly along the surface. Allow yourself to dive deeply and meaningfully into life’s richness. Your time is precious, so treat it with the respect it deserves. Rise above the anxious hurrying, and make every moment really mean something. Drama of Life Every passing moment is like a passing act in a play. Each of us are the actors playing out parts very well. An actor is never focused on another actors part, continually criticizing it. He just gets on with his own part, playing it as best he can. This Drama of Life is eternal, predestined and accurate. Whatever anybody else says and does is their role, not mine. My task is to play my part right. Right thoughts restore rightness to the whole play. Practice detaching yourself from your role and experiencing the truth, behind the role and you will find yourself loving every instant of your role and the Drama, too. Have a blessed day and weekend. May Yehsua bless you, Love, Debbie
