The Holy Spirit teaches us to pray as we ought. We know that all - TopicsExpress

The Holy Spirit teaches us to pray as we ought. We know that all things work for good for those who love God. Searching hearts, we are able to learn how to pray for the holy ones according to God’s will. Paul gives this instruction in his letter to the Romans. As we celebrate the charter members of this church, we might !#$%&(&%)&*+,%&,&-%.&/((&01!+2)&1(3&%)&44!%5(+%6& to learn to pray and love God. Have we considered how much effort it takes to build a parish? We enter into a building complex that has been developed over the last 65 years. We possibly recognize how challenging it is to keep all of this working. But imagine wanting to pray and not having this building. The charter members had to pray for the faith to believe that this was worthwhile. They had to convince others of this worthiness. Ultimately they had to pray for the strength and courage to open hearts to a dream of building a parish on the west side of Wausau. Believing in the will of the Father to continue the mission, St. Anne’s stands as a testimony to the work of the Spirit among our charter members. What is the intention of the Spirit today? How do we 37(&-%.&/((&41!+2)&%3168&&9)&$)1!%!&::;!2& speak of a vibrant, welcoming church. They share the story of the commitment and love expressed for this new church community. Friendships grew as the church grew. Shared responsibility led to paying for and supporting the needs of the parish. With creativity and zeal, the foundation of St. Anne Parish grew in the hearts of those who dedicated their time and energy to realize this parish. Through the love for God, they also loved this parish. In many ways, this is still the story. How well do we recognize what is planted in our hearts? How strongly will we work for the ongoing mission of this parish? Each anniversary is a moment to renew our love for God, for His church, and for the opportunity to pray in the manner of Paul. Prayer is at the heart of keeping faith alive and allowing the Spirit to give instruction. Celebrate the wonder of starting our 65th year and carrying the baton handed on to us by the charter members of St. Anne Parish! Sharing news about the parish . . . A wish of God’s peace is extended to the family and friends of Donna Buehler and Janet Vlach. Donna’s funeral was on Wednesday, July 16 and Janet was buried on Friday, July 18. May our prayers support and encourage those who mourn. May they rest in peace!
