The Homewood-Flossmoor Park Districtseeks: Before and After School Care Site Director Position Type: Part-time, 9-month position, School Year: August through Early June Description: The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District seeks motivated, creative, and experienced directors for the district’s 2014-15 after school care program AM Club and Extra Innings. The director must possess 2-plus years of experience working with school-aged children and is responsible for planning and implementing daily activities for a group of 20-40 school-aged children. Programs also run all day on school days off, excluding major holidays. Possible daily activities include arts and crafts, athletic games, cooking, science experiments and other school-aged enrichment activities. The Director is also responsible for leading and directing Recreation Supervisors and communicating with the school staff, Recreation Supervisor and parents on a regular basis. Ideal candidates should possess a degree in Education, Recreation or related field. Morning hours are 6:30 to 8:15 a.m., Monday through Friday. P.M. hours, 3 to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Both require additional planning hours each week along with monthly meetings and longer hours available on some days off school. Before and After School Care Recreation Leader Position Type: Part-Time, 9-month position, Late August through Early June Description: The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District seeks motivated, creative, and experienced staff for its before and school care program AM Club and Extra Innings. Staff are responsible for leading a group of school-aged children through daily before or after-school activities. Programs also run all day on school days off, excluding major holidays. Other responsibilities include communicating with parents during drop-off and pick-up and supporting the Site Director with new activity/planning ideas. 1+ years’ experience working with children strongly suggested. Enrollment in a college degree program in education, recreation or related field is highly desirable.A.M. Staff Hours: 6:45 to 8:30 a.m., Monday through Friday.P.M. Staff Hours: 2:45 to 6 p.m. or 3 to 6 p.m., Monday through FridayStarting Salary: $8.25
