The House Education Committee will meet again on Wednesday March - TopicsExpress

The House Education Committee will meet again on Wednesday March 19, 2014. The following bills will be heard: HB 555 (HENRY): legis.la.gov/legis/ViewDocument.aspx?d=878442&n=HB555+Original HB 560 (IVEY): legis.la.gov/legis/ViewDocument.aspx?d=878452&n=HB560+Original HB 946 (SCHRODER): legis.la.gov/legis/ViewDocument.aspx?d=880375&n=HB946+Original HB 384 (CROMER): legis.la.gov/legis/ViewDocument.aspx?d=875655&n=HB384+Original This is an urgent matter that needs your attention RIGHT NOW. Next Wednesday, some of these data bills may go on to be heard on the house floor, and others will die in committee. We can not afford for the strongest protection for our children to die in committee!!! We need to all join forces in support of one of these data bills. The whole reason we are all in this fight is for our children. For that one reason, we need the strongest data bill to come out on top, and with a ton of support. LaPACC is firm on it’s stance that HB946 is the strongest data bill. Before you decide on which bill to support, you need to fully understand WHY you support one of these data bills. Now is not the time to follow along without knowing WHY. There are several of us that will once again put gas in our vehicle, take the day off of work and head to Baton Rouge to speak in favor of the bill that we want. We will do that to stand for our children. We really need for other parents to come with us. If you are unable to come, we can let you know what you can do from home, and still have a voice in that committee meeting. Stand strong parents! Now is the time to review and support a bill. Make your own educated decision. Now is not the time to follow ANYONE without fully understanding what these bills will or will NOT do. Please read them for yourself and comment here. We need to get a good dialog going about these.
