The Hunger Games series impacted me in so many ways when I read it. Ive re-read it at least 5x and am still inspired yet saddened by the themes and the way it plays out. --------------------- EDIT: If you are not familiar with this series, you may only know that it involved games in which teens hunt each other down. Yes, that is part of the story, but that is not the focus of the story, nor are the games portrayed as good or glorified in any way. The themes in the series include government tyranny and oppression, finding the courage to stand alone and do right despite the threat of [quite possibly fatal] consequences, how one persons actions can inspire others, loving another and doing whats best for them despite the cost to self, and more. The impact of this story on me has been similar to that of A Tale of Two Cities. --------------------- One of my favorite parts in the book was Katniss singing.
