The I Will INSPIRE Race Event was born from Heroes that have overcome their physical challenges and have decided to embrace life to it’s fullest. Heroes such as Marine Lt. Col. Ty Edwards who was left paralyzed over much of his body after being shot in the head during an ambush in Afghanistan and like NYC Firefighter Matt Long who overcame injuries after being hit and run over by a city transit bus with little expectation of survival, yet he survived and continues to train and compete....these athletes and survivors INSPIRED our race to allow athletes of all abilities to RUN, WALK or WHEEL their way to the finish line... Our race has grown in numbers and INSPIRATION....every year there are so many stories of overcoming odds and obstacles that test the human spirit. We invite you to join us this Valentine’s Day to see some true heart in action. We promise a day full of love and support! So whether a brave hero recovering from life altering injuries or someone willing themselves to merely live, there are countless stories like these that led us to establish the I Will INSPIRE 5k. Our mission is to INSPIRE athletes of all abilities and levels to embark on a journey of self achievement, whether it is a first time runner or recovering veteran. The chip-timed I Will INSPIRE/Run.Walk.Wheel. 5k race is scheduled for February 14, 2015 at 8:00 AM/1 Mile at 9:00 AM and we cant wait to see how many people we INSPIRE to get out there run!!
