The IBAP Project begins! They are digging up at Mediana where the British battalion reinforced what Rust termed A Republican Brigade, which was in fact the German XI International Brigade! Another odd thing is that the battalion was only sent up at 0850 on the morning of the 4th of September from their reserve position in sight of Belchite by the Codo junction. Yet Rust said they moved up by lorry at night. The attack by the Dimitrovs and Lincoln Washington started on 1st of September, morale was bad in the British battalion after the losses at Purburell Hill and Paddy ODaire had to persuade party members to get the battalion to move.
