The ICOM-CC Triennial Conference takes off in Melbourne this month with an exhibiton called Fragile First Impressions: A Threatened Archive of Indigenous Reportage. It showcases the extraordinary rock art of Warddeken Indigenous Area. This exhibition comprises a set of photographs by David Hancock documenting the rock art sites that record the impressions by local Aboriginal artists of their early contact with Europeans.
