The IPCC AR5 report on Climate Change/Global Warming has had its first airing today. The gist of this report boils down to the fact that the increase in CO2 since pre-industrial levels in the atmosphere, has risen by 40% from 280 ppm (parts per million) to 391 ppm. This means that the atmosphere now consists of 0.000391% CO2, and that the increase has been 0.000111%. That amounts to a one ten thousandth of a per cent increase in 200 years. Another way of putting this is that for every 100,000 molecules of gas in the atmosphere, there are an extra 11 of CO2, and 39 in total. They tell us that this has caused an average 0.8 degree increase in average surface temperature over the last 100 years. This would have to go down as the most microscopic tail ever to wag such a massive dog. How much truth is in this report? About 0.000391%.
