The IWAG Festival of Pototan is the centerpiece of Iloilo’s celebration during the Christmas season. IWAG is an Ilonggo term for light. Organized by a private group way back in 1997, IWAG Festival is celebrated yearly in the town of Pototan and has been a visitor magnate in this side of Iloilo. It usually falls on the 16th of December until the 1st of January the next year. It showcases the artistry of the people of Pototan in making those Christmas ornaments and giving them life with the shimmering lights that makes the town’s plaza an elegant destination in the cold nights of December. The town’s plaza is filled with vibrant colors and lively sparkling lights that turns it into a paradise that brings the true spirit of the season. Stroll around and be amazed with the different styles of Christmas crafts gleaming with sparkles. Don’t miss the Christmas fun; don’t be caught by the holiday rush. Relax and enjoy the season, enjoy the IWAG Festival of Pototan – the Christmas capital of Western Visayas!
