The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced that weather permitting, routine bridge inspections will be performed on I-90, the Kennedy Expressway between Central Avenue and the I-94 (Edens) Junction in Chicago on Sunday, March 16, 2014. In order to complete the work, it will be necessary to close various lanes of I-90 (JFK) from 6 a.m. to noon on Sunday. Lanes of I-90 will be closed in a moving operation, alternating between the inbound and outbound direction. A minimum of one lane will be open at all times. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to the signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, be on the alert for workers and equipment, expect delays and be prepared to stop.
