The Imperfect Mismatch CHAPTER – 36 Inder made Indira sit on the chair and asked,”Tu aise kyu chali aayi beta?Tujhe pata hai hum sab tujhe kitna dhundh rahe the.”Indira remained silent.Inder understood that Indira was feeling hesitated to tell him about the actual reason.He said,”Rishi ne sabko tere aur uske contract marriage ke baare mein sab kuch bata diya hai.”Indira looked with jerk towards Inder and then slowly towards Rishi and then lowered her head down.She apologized,”Iam sorry papa,maine bohot bari galti kar di hai,par agar main ghar waapas aati to aap sabki bohot badnaami hoti.”Inder cupped her face and said,”Mere bachcho ki zindagi ke aagey main kisi cheez ki koi parvaah nehi karta hu ye baat to tu jaanti hai na.Main teri ma ki tarah nehi hu.Mujhe koi fark nehi parta hai koi kya kahega.Tujhe pata hai ko kaam tune ye soch kar kiya ke usse hamaari badnaami nehi hogi uske vajah se hum sab kitne pareshaan the.Kaha kaha nehi dhundha humne tujhe.Fir Rishi ne police ko clue diya ke tu kaha mil sakti hai.”Indira said,”Par mujhe ghar waapas nehi jaana hai papa,main yaha bohot khush hu.”Inder said,”Tujhe Rishi ke ghar jaane ki koi zarurat nehi hai,tu apne ghar chalegi,mere saath.Maine tujhse kaha tha na ke jab bhi tujhe aisa lag eke tu is shaadi se khush nehi hai,tu bas ek baar aakar mujhe bataana,main tujhe is rishtey se azaad karwaaunga to tune kahi kyu nehi ye baat mujhe?”Indira replied,”Main aapko dukh nehi dena chahti thi papa aur isme Rishi ki akele ki nehi hum dono ki galti hai.Isiliye main yaha chali aayi.”Inder smiled and asked,”Main nana banne waala hu ye baat mujhse kyu chupaayi beta?”Indira replied,”Mujhe ye baat yaha aakar pata chali papa varna mujhe nehi pata tha ke main pregnant hu.Aap log jaaiye papa yaha se,main ghar nehi jaaungi.”Inder remained silent for sometime and then asked,”Agar main kisi musibat mein hota to kyat u mujhe us haalat mein akele chor kar chali aati?”Indira lowered her eyes and then Inder made a grin and got up and said,”Main tera saara saamaan pack karwaane ka bandobast karwaata hu,tu tayyar ho ja.”Saying he left from there. Indira was sitting in her room sadly while some ladies of the hostel were packing her luggages.Rishi came in her room and in order to gather her attention,he cleared his throat.Indira looked at him and then turned her face again.He sat on the bed and said,”Aajtak main dad dad bolta tha,par mujhe ab yakeen hi nehi aa raha hai ke koi mujhe dad bolne waala is duniya mein aa raha hai.”Indira wiped her tears and didn’t reply.He asked,”Kya naam socha hai uske liye?”Indira slowly replied,”Mujhe nehi pata ke larka hoga ya larki,isiliye abhi tak socha nehi hai.”Rishi said,”Mujhe pata hai,dekhna beta hi hoga aur main usey pyar se kitto bulaaunga.”Indira sat by turning against him.He became sad thinking Indira was angry with him.He asked,”You loved me...bataya kyu nehi?”Indira remained mum and then he again said,”Tumhe pata hai...main yaha aate waqt vo contract papers phaar ke aaya hu.”Indira turned her head on hearing that and then again sat by facing him.He held her hand and said,”Tum chali gayi ye sunne ke baad Sanjay ke alava mere saare dost bohot khush huye aur tumhaare baare mein bohot gandi saari baate bolne lage.Maine ek ko bohot maara phir Sanju ne bola ke I have fallen in love with you.Ab mujhe lagta hai ke pyar tha...hamesha se hi...but kabhi pata nehi chala...”Indira cut him in the middle and said,”Mummyji ne kaha tha ke bachpan se hi tumhe har baat ka realization karwaana parta hai.Is baar bhi to wahi hua na Rishi.Tum zindagi mein kabhi responsible nehi bane aur naahi kabhi ban sakte ho...”Rishi,in a pleading tone said,”Nehi Indira aisa mat kaho,main tumhaara aur baby ka bohot dhyaan rakkhunga,tum dono ko kabhi kisi cheez ki kami nehi mehsus hone dunga.Please Indira ghar chalo,I promise main tumhe hamesha khush rakkhunga.”Indira released her hand forcefully and in a hurt and angry tone said,”No Mr Rishi Diwan!!Tum yaha isliye nehi aaye ho kyuki tumhe meri parwaah hai balki isliye aaye ho kyuki main tumhaare ghar se nikalkar hi gaayab hui thi.Ab to tumne ye dekh liya na ke main pregnant hu,to ab tumhe ye bachcha bhi chahiye hai na??Mr Rishi Diwan,hamaare is contract marriage mein bachche ke baare mein koi clause nehi tha to ab jab us ek saal ke rishtey ke vajah se ye bachcha is duniya mein aane waala hai to isme bas mera hi haq hoga.Ye sirf mera bachcha hai,sirf mera.”Rishi got up and said,”Mera yakeen maano Indira,main sach mein tumse pyar karne laga hu.Main tumhaare saath rehna chahta hu.Please waapas aa jaao.”Indira started crying and said,”Kyu aau main waapas???Kyu???Jo aadmi agle din subhe aakar ye kehta hai ke hamaare beech peechle raat ko jo bhi hua vo meri galti thi aur aakar maafi maangta hai,main aise insaan ke saath kaise reh sakti hu?Tumhe pata bhi hai uswaqt mujhe kaisa laga tha?Tumhaare liye to ye ek galti hai na,to phir apni galti ka bojh main tumhe uthaane kaise de sakti hu?Ye meri galti nehi hai,mera bachcha hai,mere pyar ki nishaani aur main aur mera bachcha kabhi tumhaare saath nehi reh sakte hai.”At that moment,Inder came there and took Indira’s hand and said,”Beta chal tera saara saamaan gaari mein daal diya hai maine aur maine doctor se bhi baat kar li hai,to flight mein tujhe ek alag se seat mein bitha kar le jaayenge 7 va mahina chal raha hai na isliye.Chalo flight ka time ho raha hai.”Indira gave a grinning look to Rishi and then left with Inder,slowly followed by Rishi. Inder made separate arrangements for Indira in the flight and she was brought home safely.Inder asked Rishi to go home and he took Indira alongwith him to his home.On getting there,Sunaina and Vidit’s wife Tara welcomed her and then Tara said,”Aao Indira,main to jab se aayi hu tumse mili bhi nehi hu.”Inder said to Indira,”Beta apne kamre mein ja aur kisi bhi cheez ki zarurat ho to hume bata dena.”Tara said,”Jabse papaji ne inform kiya hai ke hamaari Indira ka 7 va mahina chal raha hai maine usiwaqt tumhaara kamra neeche hamaare room ke bagal mein shift karwa diya hai taaki tumhe seeriya na charni pare.”Tara brought Indira inside and she came face to face with Kutumb.They hugged each other and Kutumb asked,”Kaisi hai beta?”Indira nodded her head and then Tara took her inside.After they left,Kutumb said to Inder,”Suniye mujhe aapse baat karni hai.”Inder said,”Agar tumhe vohi puraana raag alaapna hai to please mujhe vo sab sunne mein bilkul bhi koi dilchaspi nehi hai.”Kutumb said,”Kamsekam uske sasural waalo ko ye to bata dijiye ke Indira ma banne waali hai,unke khaandaan ka,Rishi ka bachcha hai vo.”Inder said,”Bachcha sabse pehle uski ma ka hota hai phir baad mein sabka.Rishi ko pata hai sab kuch aur vo zarur unhe bata hi dega.Filhaal main bohot thak chuka hu mujhe araam karna hai aur please Indira ke liye kuch khaane ka intezaam karo,tumhi kehti ho na ke aise waqt mein kuch na kuch khilaate rehna chahiye.”Kutumb made a face and then left from there.Rishi reached home and he was greeted by everyone.On the other side,in Rishi’s home,Simi looked at the door and asked,”Kaha hai Indira?”Rishi slowly replied,”Uske papa usey apne saath le gaye hai mom.”Simi was heartbroken on hearing that and asked,”Tuney usey lane ki koshish nehi ki?”He replied,”Kaha tha par ab vo mere saath rehna hi nehi chahti hai mom ar phir maine socha ke us haalat mein usey zyaada pressurize karna bhi thik nehi hoga.”Payal confusingly asked,”Kaisi haalat???Kya matlab?”Rishi sadly smiled and replied,”Aap daadi banne waali hai mom aur bhabhi aap barimummy.Congrats to all!!”Simi was very happy listening that Indira was pregnant and she said,”Main daadi banne waali hu??Main abhi ja rahi hu Indira se milne.”Everyone were happy hearing about the news,but Rishi stopped her and said,”Mom aaj hi vo ghar aayi hai,aap kal chale jaana.Abhi usey thora araam karne dijiye,ye uske liye bohot zaruri hai.”Simi nodded her head and then said,”Thik hai main kal hi jaaungi aur apni bahu aur apne honewaale pote ya poti ko ghar lekar aaungi.Nehi sabse pehle abhi main mandir hokar aati hu,itni bari khushkhabri hai,mujhe bhagwaan ko to shukriya ada karna hi chahiye.”Simi was behaving like a mad from the moment she listened to it.She took Payal alongwith her and left for the temple and Rishi went to his room to take rest. At night,Tara brought dinner for Indira in her bedroom and found that she was sitting sadly.Tara put the dish on the table and asked,”Kya soch rahi ho Indira?”Indira replied,”Kuch nehi bhabhi bas aise hi bethi thi.”Tara smiled and put her hand on Indira’s tummy and said,”Dekha baby aapki mamma kitna jhut bolti hai.Vo chahe laakh chupaale par hume pata hai ke vo aapke papa ke baare mein hi soch rahi thi.Hai na?”Indira lowered her eyes.Tara asked,”Jab tum Rishi ko itna miss kar rahi ho to uske saath ghar kyu nehi gayi Indira?”Indira replied,”Aap to sab kuch jaanti hai na bhabhi ke pyar sirf maine Rishi se kiya tha usne nehi.Usko lagta hai ke hamaare beech mein jo kuch bhi hua tha vo galat tha,aap hi bataaiye na bhabhi ke main kaise jaau aise soch rakhne waale insaan ke saath.”Tara said,”Aisa bhi to ho sakta hai na ke sach mein uswaqt usey is baat ka ehsaas na hua ho,tumhaare jaane ke baad hua ho.”Indira said,”Usey is baat ka ehsaas dilwaaya gaya hai,usey khud se nehi hua.”Tara laughed and said,”Ab dekho Indira ye to dil ki baat hai,uspar kisika zor nehi chalta hai.Tum kisiko khud se pyar karne par majboor to nehi kar sakti ho aur vaise pyar ka ehsaas dilwaaya jaaye ya khud se hua ho,ho to gaya na.Ab tum kisiko is baat ki sazaa kaise de sakti ho jo usne jaan bujh kar nehi kiya,jiska isme koi kasoor hi na ho.Ab agar kisiko baat der se samajh me aati hai to koi kya kar sakta hai?”Indira said,”Aap samajh nehi rahi hai bhabhi...”Tara understood that she was getting panicked and so in order to make her cool down,she said,”Thik hai mujhe samajhna bhi nehi hai,filhaal to tum ye khaana kha lo.”Tara gave her the dish and Indira,on seeing the quantity asked,”Bhabhi ye to itna saara khaana hai main kaise khaaungi?”Tara replied,”Indira main ek doctor hu isliye mujhe pata hai ke is haalat mein tumhe kya aur kitna khaana khaana chahiye aur abhi tum ek nehi do ho zyaada khaaogi to usey bhi to thora milega.Ab kha lo,jaldi nehi dheere dheere khaao par pet bhar kar khaao.”Indira nodded her head and had her dinner. At the same time,in Rishi’s place,he too was sitting sadly in his bedroom when Payal brought his dinner followed by Sameer.On seeing her,he said,”Mujhe khaana nehi khaana hai bhabhi aap please isey yaha se lekar jaaiye.”Payal asked,”Kya tune usey manaane ki koshish nehi ki?”Rishi replied,”Bohot ki hai par usne meri ek baat bhi nehi suni aur apne paap ke saath chali gayi.”Sameer said,”Beta biwia itni asaani to nehi maanti hai,unhe bohot manaana parta hai,bohot papad belne parte hai.Sab itna asaan to hai nehi hota hai.Tu koshish kar baar baar koshish kar.”Rishi helplessly replied,”Kya baar baar koshish karu bhaiya,vo to meri baat tak sunne ko tayyar nehi hai.”Payal said,”Dekh abhi vo ma banne waali hai,aise main kisi bhi aurat ke moods ka,soh ka koi thikaana nehi hota.Ek pal mein kuch sochti hai aur dusre hi pal mein kuch aur.Tu uske saath baat kar par zyaada zor zabardasti mat kar.Isse uske sehat par asar parega.Thik hai?Aur vaise bhi hum to kal waha ja hi rahe hai na to bas ab uske baare mein fikar karna chor do aur khaana kha kar so jaao.Thik hai?”But still Rishi didn’t want to have his dinner,but Payal forcible made him have his dinner and said,”Arey tu nehi khaayega to apne baby ka nappy change karne ke liye raat bhar jaagne ki taaqat tujhe kaha se milegi?”Sameer replied,”Ha yaar main bhi jaagta hu tujhe bhi parega.”Payal said,”Dekh lena chand si beti hogi bilkul Indira ki tarah.”Rishi replied,”Nei mujhe beti nehi chahiye,do do hitler ko main nehi jhel sakta mujhe to beta chahiye apne jaisa,par agar beti hui na to main usko Indira ke saath zyaada rehne hi nehi dunga main usko apne jaisa banaaunga.”Payal nodded her head and then Rishi had a smile on his face.
