The Importance of the Posterior Chain: The posterior chain - TopicsExpress

The Importance of the Posterior Chain: The posterior chain refers to the low back, glutes (butt) and hamstrings. If you are unfamiliar with these terms, we are talking about your low back and the back of your legs. These muscles are important for a strong core, balance, functionality, injury prevention and knee joint stability. Now lets be honest. All of the above reasons why the posterior chain is very important are nice, but whats another HUGE reason the posterior is important: we want to look GOOD. Its bikini season, so it is a priority to have your butt and the back of your legs looking GOOD during that trip to the beach or pool party. Here is a short clip of our trainer Kari performing an assisted Glute-Ham Raise. She is using her upper body to give her a slight boost at the beginning of the lift. After that initial portion of the lift, her glutes and hamstring muscles activate to pull her body toward the dumbbell rack. This is another KILLER move for the back of your legs from Kari. Ladies, I recommend you contact her if youre looking to get into bikini shape, that seems to be her specialty!!! Kari is teaching Sculpt at 5:30 PM today, helping all you girls (and guys!) obtain that toned, defined look. Come check her out! #empoweringpunch #wetrainhardbutpunchharder
