The Incredibly THIN margin of LIFE. Astronomers like to teach us how our amazing planet is situated in the sweet spot that makes life possible-you know-just a little closer to the sun (like Venus) and wed all burn up and just a little farther away (like Mars) and its too cold. But you can also see that same effect right here on earth.. Notice the Polar Ice caps-although one could live there, it would not be optimum. Then you can see the vast Sahara desert (the brown spot in the middle, on the top of Africa) thats worse. Then you can see where all the air traffic originates from and goes to- the most habitable places where we find the most concentrations of humanity-North America, Europe, Japan and China. wow. we really do live in a thin zone of life.
