The Independent Payment Advisory Board, CREATED BY THE Affordable Health Care Act. The new system grants IPAB the authority to make changes to the Medicare program payments. Chief Actuary of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will determine in particular years the projected per capita growth rate for Medicare (the implementation year). If the projection exceeds a target growth rate, IPAB must reduce Medicare spending. The first proposal could be submitted in January 2014 to take effect in 2015. . The Secretary must then implement the proposal(or the Secretarys) decisions under a fast-track procedure that the law sets forth.[1] The cuts will be based on the need for the procedures NEEDED by patients, the benefits to society IF THE procedure is approved, and COST versus RESULTS!! Remember when Joe Biden said Suck it up and do the best for your country??. Welllll, he doesnt have AHCA coverage!!!LOL. He has Special coverage for certain people only!!! I am glad I am able to avoid using AHCA for my later years!!! Dont you look forward to telling your parents Sorry, that life saving procedure for YOU has been determined to expensive for what you are worth!!! Hooray to the IPAB and then people that did this great thing for our country!!!. To bad they dont have to use it!! AND WHO DID YOU VOTE FOR???? This isnt the Death Panel is it. Nooo, it couldnt be!! My congress man told me IT ISNT!!tHE bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their level of productivity in society, whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.
