The Indiana Supreme Court is expected to hear arguments in the case of the Elkhart Four next month. According to our reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth, the court has set a date of January 21 for the attorneys of Blake Layman, Levi Sparks and Anthony Sharp. A fourth person, Jose Quiroz, pleaded guilty to felony murder so he cannot appeal his conviction. In October of 2012 the four unarmed teens committed a burglary at an Elkhart home they thought was empty. The homeowner was there, and shot and killed one intruder, then shot and wounded another. The prosecutor charged the teens with felony murder, and a jury convicted them.
