The Insurance Policy for Tuam Coderdojo arrived today...after many unforeseen delays! This means we will be back up and running very soon in Scoil Bhríde, Mercy Secondary School, Tuam. In the meantime there is a Galway Coderdojo Event in NUIG this Saturday - all are welcome, see below for details & dont for get to bring your laptop. It should be a really interesting day. Dojos from Galway City, Athenry, Loughrea and Mountbellew are confirmed, and we hope to have people from Tuam, Kinvara, and even Sligo and Roscommon. There will also be groups coming from various secondary schools in the city and county. Registration and setup will be from 11:00 and things will kick off in earnest from 11:30. It will go on until 2:30. However, it is fine if you arrive late / depart early. · There will be structured sessions using Scratch, ideal for younger members and newcomers. · Different groups and their mentors will have space to work on their projects, demo their projects if they wish, show others what they do, and see what people in other dojos do. No doubt we will all come away with new ideas. · The “This Is Not A Game” workshop will take place in one part of the venue. The open dojo session is open to everybody aged 7 and up. As usual, under 13s must be accompanied. You don’t have to register in advance, just turn up. You don’t have to be in a CoderDojo already, so feel free to invite along friends. The “This Is Not A Game” workshop is open to ages 10 and older. You have to register for that.
