The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews-sponsored Carmei Ha’ir in Jerusalem is more than a typical soup kitchen. When people walk through the doors of Carmei Ha’ir, they are seated and served by volunteers, simulating a restaurant experience and preserving diners’ dignity. Meals from Carmei Ha’ir are also sent to nearly 50 local schools, ensuring children have a nutritious meal every day.
