The Interview was meh for me, tbh. Funny at some parts, but mostly underwhelming. Although, it may have been ruined by the fact that Ive seen a little bit about how awful conditions are in North Korea, and its no laughing matter. Which is why I still think its wildly inappropriate and disgusting to make a movie about this country and its leader. North Korean citizens are raped, killed, brainwashed and tortured every day. TODAY. Right now as were sitting comfortably with our phones or in front of our computers. Citizens who manage to escape have to go through years of therapy to correct the brainwashing they endured their whole lives. Because even after theyve escaped theyre still convinced that theyre in danger. Theyre convinced that their leader is a god. Theyre convinced that simply even allowing themselves to think negatively of him will get them killed. And now this movie makes it seem like a big joke. There is a modern-day Hitler(for lack of a better term) out there and the masses arent taking it seriously. This is a whole country of people being terrorized and were all praising a movie thats poking fun at it. merp. idk man. Doesnt seem right to me. Think of it like making a parody movie about 9/11 and how outraged its victims would be. That wouldnt be cool, would it? Think of the men, women and children who either died or lost loved ones trying to escape their own country, only to find that Americans have created a movie that completely disrespects and disregards everything theyve been through their whole lives.
