The Isla Mujeres Scholarship program still needs a few additional sponsors. School has started and our students have incurred their first big expenses of the year. Some students were fortunate to have some extra funds donated to help them with these expenses. Others were not. There are two levels of sponsorship, $30 or $55 month. ($5 is an admin fee and slush fund for emergencies.) High school students receive $50 a month and depending on circumstances university students receive between $150 - $300 per month - in pesos equivalent. If you are not able to commit to a monthly sponsorship, perhaps you could make a one time donation to help offset a student’s tuition and other associated expenses. There is one student who is in need of a laptop. Two laptops have been donated and designated to students. I can’t imagine not having a computer while attending school today.
