The Island Project School is an independent School for individuals aged 5-19 with autism and other related communication and behavioural diagnosis. Due to phenomenal growth we are currently recruiting for a Compliance Secretary who will be responsible for high quality effective administration standards. Reporting directly to the Compliance Director you will provide a wide range of general administrative support. Typical duties will include; managing telephone calls and emails, working with the senior management team, supporting the Office Manager and Compliance Director with relevant data returns, reviewing and updating policies and procedures, critiquing documentation standards, collating and distributing reports, compiling letters for parents and external professionals including Local Education Authorities and medical personnel. You will also take responsibility for compliance, supporting the School in achieving quality standards. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate significant experience of working with administrative systems, procedures and coordination. You will need to evidence strong organisational and communication skills along with a high standard of literacy and numeracy. It is essential for the post holder to be proficient in word processing, spreadsheet and database skills. Attitude is critical, our service is ever changing therefore it is important that the candidate is able to shift and change with the priorities and demands of the day. You will need to demonstrate the ability to work confidentially and comply with data protection and other such legislation. Essential Criteria: • Considerable experience in administrative systems, procedures and coordination • Strong planning and organising skills • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database skills • High standard of literacy and numeracy • Analytical mind-set • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work autonomously using own initiative and as a member of a team across different departments • Ability to compose, type and distribute meeting notes, routine correspondence and reports • Diary management skills • Flexibility The salary; £14,500 - £16,500 dependent on experience Hours of Work: 37.5 Hours per week, Monday to Friday 9 weeks holiday to include 2 training days plus any bank holidays that fall within term time.
