The JSPCA Animals Shelter say its.... Cool to be Kind Animal Welfare is never easy but Steve and I were so delighted to learn more about Cool to be Kind which is a group set up by Anthony Head, and Sarah Fisher. We were very lucky to meet Sarah and Anthony a number of years ago at a Animal Welfare conference and feel very privileged to have become friends with both. There are so many people who work so hard to campaign and help animals in awful situations and this is something that Cool to be Kind is supporting and acknowledging. There are also many celebrates supporting Cool to be Kind such as Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul McGann, James Marsters, Bernard Cribbins and many more. His career spans over forty years and includes roles in television, films and on stage including Joss Whedon’s hit US series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and the BBC UK series Little Britain. His more recent appearances have been as Uther Pendragon in the successful BBC production of Merlin, Geoffrey Howe in The Iron Lady with Meryl Streep, Arthur Donaldson in Poliakoff’s stunning Golden Globes nominated production Dancing on the Edge (BBC), Chiron in the film Percy Jackson and the Sea Monsters (a role that as half man-half horse confirmed he was the perfect partner as far as Sarah is concerned), and as Ed in the popular comedy You, Me and Them. Sarah Fisher has worked professionally with animals for nearly two decades and has been an animal lover all her life. She has been fortunate to liaise with many incredible welfare organisations and animal ambassadors throughout her career. She is a Tellington TTouch Instructor, and teaches staff workshops for re-homing centre staff in the UK and abroad promoting kind and forward thinking ways of handling and helping animals. Sarah’s work also includes writing (including two books she has co-authored with Marie Miller), filming, giving talks and seminars, and she is a regular guest on radio, but the world of rescue and rehabilitation is closest to her heart. She attends the annual International Companion Animal Welfare Conference organised by Dogs Trust where she co-teaches dog behaviour workshops with Carolyn Menteith, and Dogs Trust Deputy Head of Training and Behaviour, Steve Goward.
