The JUDO program is growing and the training for the upcoming tournament is getting harder. You should come tomorrow at 7:00pm and watch us practice. So what is next? The next upcoming program we will be offering beginning in February is Traditional TaeKwon-Do. A bit of History: Did you know there are different styles of TaeKwon-Do? Yes they all use kicks but not all teach the fundamentals and the origin of the Traditional TaeKwon-Do. Did you know that TaeKwon-Do has throw downs like JUDO? Self Defense and Arm Breaking? The Traditional TaeKwon-Do was founded by General Choi Hon Hi in North Korea and it was teach only to the military of Korea for self defense. The TKD was a combination of Taekkyeon and Shotokan Karate from Japan. After the war, Gen Choi moved to South Korea where he then teach TKD to the public and then founded the International TaeKwon-Do Federation or ITF. Sadly after a few disagreements between Gen Choi and Korea he moved out then South Korea created the Olympic TaeKwonDo and the World TaeKwonDo Federation which is the one that everyone knows about. Only a big group of independent instructors know and still remember the Traditional TKD and since we have one of those instructors, we are going to be teaching it to you, so the legacy can continue. So come on January 27 and 29 for an introduction of the Traditional TaeKwon-Do and see for yourself. We will leave you with this video, enjoy: https://youtube/watch?v=3f8kyfsfHi0
