The Jacaranda is Reopening!! In the middle of October the venue in which the Beatles first played together as both Long John & the Silver Beatles and then latterly as The Beatles, is repoening its famous doors. It has been closed for two years after a period of poor trading having lost it’s way and Im extremely excited to be a part of the team who is looking to bring the Jacaranda into the 21st century. Historically the Jacaranda has been a social, cultural and musical hub in the city of Liverpool. The original ethos of providing a platform for the music scene to grow and develop is what we are looking to replicate for this generation of new musicians within this talented city. Change is an inevitable part of how concepts and philosophys evolve to keep up with the ever changing culture of the music and bar scene. This is why updating the Jacaranda has been a fine balance of staying true to it’s original ethos and ambiance as well as bringing it right up to date with the service and execution expected of modern bars/pubs. One of our main homages to the history of the venue is how we are going to provide a range of services to up and coming artists in the city completely free of charge. The basement floor will be open during the day as a free rehearsal room for emerging Liverpool bands. This will work on a free diary booking system on a first come first served basis. The rehearsal space will be set up so bands can just plug in their instruments and play with limited fuss. All bands who are using the free rehearsal space must then play an evening slot, anyone regularly using the rehearsal room therefore inherently becomes a ‘house’ band. Our links with other established music venues around the city will not only provide further opportunities new artists to play but only reinforces the close knit musical community we are trying to create. The city of Liverpool is internationally famous for producing arguably the best band in musical history. Because of this, the reopening of the first venue they first got together in is huge for the legacy of the Beatles. Whos excited?!?!?!
