The Jammu and Kashmir government would holdthe annual exams for 10th and 12th standardstudents in the first week of November.The Annual exams for the classes Ist, 2nd, 3rd,4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 11th in KashmirValley will be conducted in the last week ofOctober, 2014.The exams for classes 10th and 12th which arebeing conducted by the State Board of Educationwill be conducted in the first week of November,2014.The decision was taken at a high-level meetingchaired by the Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand,here today.While taking review of educational activities in theKashmir Valley in the aftermath of floods, theDeputy Chief Minister directed the concernedofficers to make elaboratearrangements forsmooth conduct of these examinations and issuenecessary date sheets for the information ofstudents.The Deputy Chief Ministeralso directed all theChief Education Officers to ensure regularclasses in all the schools, especially whichaffected by floods. He also called for ensuringsafety of students while entering in the flood hitbuildings, he adding that such buildings must beinspected by the PWD authorities as has beendecided by the Government.He also directed the Director School Education,Kashmir to ensure proper sanitation, safedrinking water and adequate medical facilities inall the schools of the Valley. He also issuedinstructions to the BOSE authorities to takeimmediate steps for the availability of text booksfor the new classes in time.Meanwhile, while taking serious note of theabsence of Chief Education Officers, Kupwara andKulgam in today’s meeting, the Deputy ChiefMinister directed the Director School Educationto call for their explanation. #
