The January thaw reaches day 6 - afternoon temperatures have been above normal for a week. A cool down tonight with flurries and fog. Visibility has dropped at 10 PM and the light snow / snow showers are diminishing. A quiet end to the week, a little cooler Thursday but we should see afternoon temperatures above normal through Saturday. Snow is lacking this season with only 5.1 to date - 3rd lowest in 30 years only behind 1988 (1.3) and 2007 (4.7). Those winter snow seasons ended 11.3 and 25.8. Jury is still out as to snowfall amounts over the weekend. A clipper system dives in on Sunday but at this distance the track and amount of moisture is still up for debate. Current thinking is an accumulating snow is possible starting Sunday evening. More coming tomorrow.
