The Jeep is still not finished with me. Daniel called yesterday, - TopicsExpress

The Jeep is still not finished with me. Daniel called yesterday, saying it was spraying coolant all over the place. I drove over after my photo club meeting, and had assumed it was the upper heater line that had popped off. I clipped the end, added a new clamp, and tightened it up. Added coolant, checked for leaks, all good. Went home. Got up this morning and took a look, it was still spraying coolant. Hmmm. Grabbed a hose and cleaned everything off, decided that perhaps it was the radiator cap. $8.50 later, the new one is in place with a satisfying click. Fired up the Jeep, let it come up to temp, and then I spotted the culprit - the plastic upper bit had a hairline crack about 8 inches long. Drain the radiator again, buy new one and new hoses, clamps and more coolant, $230.00. Total so far is about $350. Off with old, in with the new, fill, run to temp, drive down the street, turn on the heater, and return to the driveway. When it cools down again, Ill finish adding the rest of the coolant. Still cant figure out why my cars only break when the temps are over 105...think I lost 10 pounds sweating. Glad we have a pool!
