The Jews celebrated Hanukkah from December 16 to 24 this year. We can assume the Lord Jesus also celebrated Hanukkah, since this feast is referenced in John chapter 10. Today we will look at the origin of the Feast of Hanukkah. This feast celebrates the overthrow of the EVIL ASSYRIAN GREEK DICTATOR, Antioches Epiphanes, in 165 BC. We are now anticipating the rise of another EVIL ASSYRIAN GREEK DICTATOR, who will try to rule the whole earth. We call him the “antichrist.” Today we will discuss many parallels between Antioches Epiphanes and the antichrist. We are making the case that the best “type” for the antichrist in the Bible and in the historical record is Antioches Epiphanes. The comparisons are so plentiful, as chronicled in the Books of Maccabees, that they could NOT be merely a coincidence. The Books of Maccabees are considered to be historically accurate, but not part of scripture. https://youtube/watch?v=UtMseWCHINk&list=UU5FTHHz92aea2KVdLVa8s3w
