The John Swanson Story We have a client, John Swanson who is a Vietnam Veteran we have been working since January 2013 to assist him with his lifelong dream of owning his own home. It has been a mission of ours to find him a house that suits his specific needs. John is a 300% disabled veteran who is confined to a wheel chair and has been living in a small 2 bedroom apartment for over 27 years. We found that John would need a new home built instead of an existing home due to his health conditions and time it would take for a remodel. We found an outstanding builder, Lennar Homes that has gone above and beyond to assist John with building the house of his dreams that meets all of his needs. There was also a lot of background work that needed to be done before we could even get to this stage. John was eligible for a Special Adaptive Housing Grant and we had to get the assistance of congress to get this filed. This was a lengthy process, however a very valuable one as John was granted $65,000 towards adapting the house to meet his specific needs. There were also many other people involved in the process such as Sherry Dolen & Belinda Mills – Keller Williams Realty – NorCal Property Team Debbie Losser - iFreedom Direct Kellie Longo – Congresswoman Matsui Office Tim Lyndaker – VA Special Adaptive Housing Jeff Panasiti – Lennar Homes - Director Of Operations Bob Dickson – Lennar Homes – Sales Representative John’s house finally closed escrow May 16th 2014 and he is beyond ecstatic that his dream has now become a reality. He is absolutely amazed at how a group of people can come together to help him in achieving this special moment in his life, sometimes it really does take a village. Finally we are able to give something back to such a special veteran that has given so much to our country. We are looking for donations for John so we can assist him with landscaping his backyard. He will eventually be able to have a place that is peaceful and relaxing and enjoy the outdoors We will be having a dedication ceremony on June 7th 2014 at John’s new home if you would like to attend.
