The Journey of the Magi The Magi were from Persia, considered wise men, priests, astrologers. Astrology is condemned in Scripture. God could use anything to speak to them, but why could they connect a star to a Jewish child born as Savior? When Nebuchadnezzar began taking Jewish people captive to Babylon, among the first captives was Daniel. Daniel correctly interpreted the kings dream and was made chief over all the wise men. When Persia took over Babylon, Daniel retained that position. The wise men of Persia were the MAGI, and Daniel was the Hebrew prophet given the exact timetable to the coming of Messiah. He wrote this prophecy down in Babylon, Persia. While master of the magi, its not unlikely that the magi would be aware of this and be waiting for the prophecy to come true. The Magi were pagans, yet because they searched for Him they found Him. We could learn a lot from them. God wants you to seek Him. He promises if you do, you will find Him. For those who seek and keep seeking shall find. Their footsteps shall be led to the exact and perfect place. Mission: Today, seek first the Lord and spend time in His presence, let Him lead you to His perfect plan for you Deuteronomy 4:29 29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. But even there, if you seek God, your God, you’ll be able to find him if you’re serious, looking for him with your whole heart and soul. When troubles come and all these awful things happen to you, in future days you will come back to God, your God, and listen obediently to what he says. God, your God, is above all a compassionate God. In the end he will not abandon you, he won’t bring you to ruin, he won’t forget the covenant with your ancestors which he swore to them. Best Hanukkah ever What will make this the best Hanukkah Day ever is love. Give it, live it, share it, allow it and treasure the fact that you can. You don’t need anything elaborate or complicated to make this special day the best one yet. It’s a simple matter of allowing life’s inherent goodness to shine through you in every moment. Let go of your need for things to be a certain way. Give your love, your joy and authentic gratitude to whatever way this day unfolds. Don’t impose any conditions on your enjoyment of the time today. Enjoy the people you’re with and the things you do just because you have the opportunity to do so. Take the unnecessary pressure off yourself and off everyone else. Accept this special day for what it is, however it may be, and enjoy giving your unconditional love to all. You deserve a beautiful experience on this beautiful, meaningful day.
