The KRG (Kurdistan Regional Government) has almost finished its oil pipeline which will allow the Kurdish region in 'Northern Iraq' to export crude oil via Turkey. The oil pipeline will be capable of exporting 500,000 barrels of crude oil per day. The KRG is the liberated Southern Part of Greater Kurdistan. It is officially still part of Iraq, but it already has all the traits of an independent country. The KRG has an estimated proven oil reserve of 50 billion barrels, but this number is expected to increase to 90 billion barrels of crude oil once the disputed Kurdish areas (Kirkuk, Khanaqin, Tuz Khurmatu) are re-united with the rest of the Kurdish region. Kurdistan is seen as the last frontier on earth when it comes to oil and gas discovery. Due to almost 100 years of war, oppression and occupation by foreign nations (Turkey, Iran, Syria and Iraq), Kurdistan was barely developed. New oil, gas and gold sources are almost found on a weekly basis and the KRG is expected to export more than 3 million barrels of crude oil by the end of 2017. The Kurdistan region is not only rich when it comes to natural resources, but also when it comes to history and culture. The oldest civilizations known to mankind all have their roots in the area what is known as Kurdistan. Kurdistan also has a huge tourism potential because of its beautiful nature and is usually referred to as 'the Switzerland of the Middle East'. After decades of being oppressed and murdered, the Kurdish nation has a bright future ahead. While the rest of Iraq and its neighboring countries are in war with and within each other, the Kurds rebuild their country.
