The Keartons Sporting complex was the hub of excitement as there were a number of sporting activities taking place. The day began on the playing field as an Owia U- 20 Team was beaten by a Barrouallie U-20 team. Chavel Cunningham, amd Delano John were not as welcoming to the guest as they scored in the 6th and 8th minute. Kyle Edwards added a third in the 23rd minute, as Sylvanus James grabbed a consolation strike for Owia in the 33rd minute. In the feature encounter of the Bank of SVG- Western Union Senior Division, arch- rivals Keartons defeated their neighbors Hillview with a heart-wrenching 1 nil scoreline. In an encounter filled with drama, it took a single strike from Emry Bailey to give Keartons advantage. The action then moved to the Hard-court as it was the commencement of the 2013 Western Union- Vita Malt Netball Championships. In a Junior feature encounter, Barrouallie U-16 outscored Layou U-16 18 goals to 8. Proceeding the Official Opening ceremony and march-pass, a Barrouallie Select Team was schooled by the Undefeated Regional SVG U- 23 Team. Action in the Bank of SVG- Western Union Senior Division Football will continue tomorrow as Predators will be looking to continue their momentum verses Unlimited Strikers at 4:15 PM. Meanwhile action in the Western Union Senior Division Netball begins in earnest on Tuesday.
