The Kenya Association of Women in Policing (KAWP) was formed last year July 2013. There are five types of membership. you can download the KAWP constitution from their website for more on this and objectives. Any person serving in criminal justice system can join as a member. Associte, trustee, and honorary members cannot hold office or vote. Serving female police officers and those retited can hold office and vote. Other persons like from kws, prison, nys, nis, males from nps can join as associate only. Registration is Ksh 500 for ordinary members, associate ksh 2,000 and live member 50k. AGM is on 30th September 2014 at Cid Training school. Membership cards, annual subscription fee , election of welfare and election committee, identification of auditors, resource mobilisatiin strategies and trustees will be the core business. Sensitization has not been done. Upcoming events include conference in nov 2014 to be rarified in the AGM, KAWP nights in msa, nbi and Kisumu in early November 2014 and end of year party in Dec 2014.
