The Kikuyu Elders are extremely delighted to be joined by our brothers, the Elders from the Embu, Mbeere and Ameru (njuri njeke) Communities in reaffirming our mutual desire and determination to forge ahead in UNITY and COHESION. The Elders strongly believe that prosperity and progress can easily be achieved if all our people can agree to join together and remain focussed in the task of Nation building. That said, the Elders are deeply concerned by the constant barrage of unfounded criticisms and a never ending quest by the Cord Coalition, led by their leader Raila Odinga, to keep the people of this Nation on an election mode just months after the General Elections were concluded. Our message to these idlers is that while we have absolutely no fear whatsoever for any challenge in any ballot that may be put before us now or in the future, we would like to inform these politicians that Kenyans are absolutely tired of meaningless political agitation. Kenyans want to move on with their lives and focus on Nation Building and these politicians must understand that our existence does not revolve around them. It is not and has never been about them (politicians). The destiny of this country is about the 40million plus Kenyans and their collective desires. We shall resist any attempt by the Cord politicians to divert the attention of Kenyans and their democratically elected Jubilee Government from the task of Building this Nation and fulfilling the jubilee Government’s agenda. Finally the Kikuyu Elders led by the National Chairman Wachira Kiago would like to thank the Embu people for their strong support to His Excellency the President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Jubilee Government. The Elders Vow that they will continue to support the call by the President and the Deputy President for us all to focus on the future in unity, indivisible and proud as Citizens of this great Country. We shall continue to hold such meetings with all other communities with a view to forging even greater bonds amongst all Kenyans. Thaai
