The Kindergarten Prep classroom at Bright Horizons at Beacon Hill (Boston, MA) were very curious about all of the rocks they saw while on a nature walk outdoors. After learning that the so-called rocks were actually large chunks of salt, they decided to explore why salt is so important during the winter time on icy sidewalks. Teachers brought in a few different kinds of salt - colored, kosher and sea salt. Watch what the children found out during their explorations!
