The King is coming; one week to go! The many prophecies of the coming Saviour and King had been made a long time before His birth. For example, Isaiah wrote over 700 years beforehand and the Old Testament completed some 400 years BC. Not for the first time in their extensive history, the poor spiritual condition of the nation is earlier well described in the words, “And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation.”[1 Samuel 3: 1]. Again there was silence .. However, God was about to break into the history of the world in a very dramatic and permanent manner, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made… And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us..” [John 1:1-3, 14].
