The King will answer and say to them, Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me. (Matthew 25:40) In today’s world, we are often so busy pursuing our own interests – our job, or our family, or even our church, that we forget there’s a hurting world around us. As Christians, we have the hope that comes from God’s Holy Spirit living inside us (Romans 5:5), but many don’t have that hope. And even some believers are temporarily overcome in the despair of the situation. We should be offering hope to those around us. Christ came to serve (Mark 10:45), and we are called to be like Him. We should be feeding those who are hungry. Offering drink to those who thirst. Clothing those who have no clothes. Visiting those who are sick and those in prison. (Matthew 25:34-40) Anytime we reach out to someone in need, to help them and encourage them, we are serving God, and we are being Jesus to the world. And then we will hear, “the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father’. (vv. 34)
