The Knysna Turaco (probably the most beautiful bird in Southern Africa - certainly in Plett) is very difficult to photograph, as it is shy and seldom comes out in the open. I still have not got a decent in-flight photograph. Yesterday, two Turacos came down for some apple that Carole had put out for the birds, and I managed to get a few shots. It is such a magnificent bird - the colours look like they have been painted! One day I will get this bird in full flight with its magnificent flash of bright red wings showing!
