The LA Kings signed restricted free agent defenseman Slava Voynov to a six-year contract on June 18. That the Kings got him locked up for the long-term at a price that is not exorbitant is a good thing. The bad thing is that the Kings now have just $7.67 million in salary cap space left to spread over possibly ten players with expiring contracts, including veteran defenseman Rob Scuderi, who will be eligible for unrestricted free agency in a couple of weeks.
