The LAW of SIN and DEATH is something a lot misinterpret... Lets break it down. ....Romans 6:23 For the wages of SIN [is] DEATH; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. When you sin, something has to die. When Israel sinned back in the day. The Lord had to establish a way out of killing us... And it was through the law of animal sacrifice.... Galatians 3:19 Wherefore then [serveth] the law? It was ADDED because of TRANSGRESSION , till the SEED should come to whom the promise was made; [and it was] ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. What law was added because people were breaking the law? The sacrificial law... Leviticus 5:15 If a soul commit a TRESPASS, and SIN through IGNORANCE, in the holy things of the LORD; then he shall bring for his trespass unto the LORD a ram without blemish out of the flocks, with thy estimation by shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass offering: Wages of sin is death. And if a soul sinned through ignorance a animal could die and atone for their sin. This is the law of sin and death. When you sin something has to die. And Just like you pay a fine for breaking mans laws. This animal came from your livestock , so it was a financial burden to the sinner still though their soul was being sparred. How did Christ free us from this law??? Well first it was prophesied of him to do so... Daniel 9:24-27 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Know therefore and understand, [that] from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the MESSIAH the Prince [shall be] seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be CUT OFF, BUT NOT FOR HIMSELF: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof [shall be] with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the SACRIFICE and the OBLATION to CEASE, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. When Christ died that ended the sacrificial law, why because the sacrificial law was just a school master to teach us about the role of Christ as an Sin Offering.... Hebrews 10:1,4-10 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, [and] not the very image of the things, can never with those SACRIFICES which they offered YEAR by YEAR continually make the comers thereunto perfect. For [it is] NOT possible that the blood of BULLS and of GOATS should take away sins. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a BODY hast thou prepared me: In burnt offerings and [sacrifices] for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. Above when he said, SACRIFICE and offering and burnt offerings and [offering] FOR SIN thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure [therein]; which are offered by the LAW; Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the FIRST, that he may establish the SECOND. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once [for all]. This [is] the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my LAWS into their hearts, and in their MINDS will I WRITE them; Bloods and bulls and goats could never take away our sins. As one man brought sin into the world one man HAD to take it out(Romans 5:19). That was the roll of Christ aka the Lamb of God, male of the first year without blemish. Just like Sacrifices had to be perfect and Christ was the only man perfect to be a sin atonement . This is why a new covenant was established. Under the first , Gods laws were written on stones and animals were sin atonements. but these sin atonements were temporary, couldnt get us eternal life. Under the second, Gods same laws that he DIDNT do away with are now written in our hearts , and Christ is the sin atonement. We no longer sacrifice animals anymore, and even when they did, those sacrifices werent going to get you eternal life. But now you can , if you repent from your sins and the blood of Christ is your atonement. This is how we are free from the law of sin and death and have life through Christ. And this is all apart of Grace. But just because we have grace , doesnt mean you can willfully break Gods laws. If you dont, you are not under the law(royal) meaning it cant convict you. But If you do, you are fallen from Grace... Hebrews 10:26-31 For if we SIN wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth NO MORE SACRIFICES for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the BLOOD of the COVENANT, wherewith HE was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance [belongeth] unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. [It is] a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. The wages of sin is still death. And that is still on the table. But now your own soul is on the line, animals cant die for us no more and Christ only died ONCE For us . And if you sin willfully The Lord said youre going to die that second death, the Lake of fire. But what the blood of bulls and goats couldnt do( get us eternal life), you can now get eternal life through Jesus by his blood atoning your sins, and you walking in the laws and commandments of God the best you can.
