The LIFESTYLE OF THE BLESSED MEMORY VERSE: Isa 26:3 You will - TopicsExpress

The LIFESTYLE OF THE BLESSED MEMORY VERSE: Isa 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. The metaphor of the Sheep is one that is commonly associated with Christians. This is surprising because, as Christians, we have been given authority to determine the direction of our lives by the words we speak. Why then would we be referred to as sheep? We are referred to as Sheep because the strength of the Sheep is not in itself but in its shepherd. Never again weigh situations by your own strength but rather, stay focused on your Shepherd – God – and the problem will become insignificant in your eyes. The blessed man is not self-sufficient; he relies on his Shepherd. Psalm 1:3 ”He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water…” The rivers of water refers to the Holy Spirit who sustains the blessed man (John 7:38). The word ‘Father’ is the Hebrew word ‘Abba’ which means source. The blessed man understands his source thus, he does not speak and act like others. When people say “there is a casting down”, the blessed man looks to his source and says “there is a lifting up”. The blessed man is not moved by the things people say or do to him because the Shepherd knows how to support his Sheep. CONFESSION: The Lord is my source therefore I have everything I need. PRAYER: Help me recognize you as my source and others as mere channels in Jesus’ name. FURTHER READING: Acts 8:32, 2 Chron 16:9 Good Morning.
