The LORD appeared to Isaac and said, “Do not go down to Egypt, - TopicsExpress

The LORD appeared to Isaac and said, “Do not go down to Egypt, but do as I tell you. (Genesis 26:2, NLT). Isaac was a righteous man who experienced famine in his days. It was a time of extreme scarcity of food. This could have been caused by drought. Crops and animals lacked water to grow and flourish. In our contemporary time, we could call it an economic crisis/meltdown. A time when businesses fail and the rate of unemployment skyrockets. It is a time when the system is failing and nothings seems to be working. Due to this famine Isaac had decided to leave for Egypt where there seemed to be abundance. Mind you, Isaac was working from experience. It happened in his fathers days and that was what Abraham did. But God intercepted his plans. There are a couple of lessons to be learnt here. 1. You need your own revelation to work out your destiny. 2. If Mr A did it this way and got a result does not mean if you do it that way you will get same result. 3. Your environment does not determine your success; YOU determine your success. In fact, there is a greater chance of becoming successful in a problem-filled environment. 4. God will not stop you from going anywhere. But He will stop you from going where he knows wont favour you. Someone has been changing from one business to the other, travelling from state to state looking for job/greener pastures. Some of us have made travelling abroad our lifes goal. But God is saying have you sat down in the midst of all the scarcity and challenges to enquire of me what I want you to do? The solution is in you. All you need to be successful is right inside of you. Discover it. Ask God to reveal it to you. You are loaded with solutions. Look beyond your circumstances. Great weekend ahead. !Be Inspired.
