The LORD said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites: ‘ON THE FIRST DAY of the SEVENTH MONTH you are to have a day of sabbath rest, A SACRED ASSEMBLY commemorated with TRUMPET BLASTS (Leviticus 23:23-24). (The first day of seventh month in Jewish calendar is Tishri 1. In Israel it is a New Year’s Day. In the Western countries Tishri 1 varies between September and October). In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, AT THE LAST TRUMP for the trumpet shall sound, and the DEAD SHALL BE RAISED incorruptible, and we shall be changed (1 Corinthians 15:52). FOR HE HIDETH ME IN A TABERNACLE IN THE DAY OF EVIL, HE HIDETH ME IN A SECRET PLACE OF HIS TENT, ON A ROCK HE RAISETH ME UP (Psalm 27:5, YLT). (Tabernacles is also known as Sukkot and Feast of Booths – Stay in tents, like in the time of Moses, Sukkot last for 7 days, Tishri 15-21). “Say to the Israelites: ‘On the fifteenth day of the seventh month the LORD’s Festival of Tabernacles begins, and it lasts for SEVEN DAYS. The first day is a sacred assembly (Leviticus 23:34-35). “So beginning with the fifteenth day of the seventh month, after you have gathered the crops of the land, celebrate the festival to the LORD for SEVEN DAYS; the first day is a day of sabbath rest, and the eighth day also is a day of sabbath rest (Leviticus 23:39).
