The Labour Bureau, Government of India have released the all India Consumer Price Index (CPI-IW) for May, which increased by two points and now stands at 244 points. On one month percentage change, it increased by 0.83 per cent between April and May when compared with the rise of 0.88 per cent between the same two months a year ago. With 11 of 12 indices required for the calculation, it is very likely that the DA hike from July 2014 will be approximately 7%, making the Dearness Allowance at 107% from July 2014. Only a drop by two points in June will make it 106%, which is very unlikely.
