The Law covenant became in a sense “obsolete” when God - TopicsExpress

The Law covenant became in a sense “obsolete” when God announced by means of the prophet Jeremiah that there would be a new covenant. (Jer 31:31-34; Heb 8:13) In 33 C.E. the Law covenant was canceled on the basis of Christ’s death on the torture stake (Col 2:14) with the new covenant replacing It. (Heb 7:12; 9:15; Ac 2:1-4). Those invited to be in the new covenant were to be anointed with Holy Spi...rit. Faithful Jews and then Gentiles were included. (Eph. 3:5, 6) Jehovah promised: “I shall forgive their error, and their sin I shall remember no more.” (Jer. 31:34) With their sins legally canceled, they would be in a position to become “a kingdom of priests.” Addressing anointed Christians, Peter wrote: “You are ‘a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for special possession, that you should declare abroad the excellencies’ of the one that called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” (1 Pet. 2:9) Peter here quotes Jehovah’s words to Israel when introducing the Law and applies them to Christians in the new covenant. (Ex. 19:5, 6). So when I read (Revelation 20:4, 5) And I saw thrones, and there were those who sat down on them, and power of judging was given them. ----- And they came to life and ruled as kings with the Christ for a thousand years. Then I read 5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. Whatever could the rest of the dead mean because during the thousand years there is suppose to be a resurrection of dead ones (Acts 24:15)? The explanation is a simple one. Adam was perfect and failed his test, being Adams offspring humanity in general will not be considered alive until they attain perfection like Adam and pass a final test. Satan being imprisoned during the thousand years (Re 20:1-3, 7). Now as soon as the thousand years have been ended, Satan will be let loose out of his prison, 8 and he will go out to mislead those nations in the four corners of the earth. Those who pass the final test will be the ones given eternal life in a Paradice on earth (Psa 37: 9-11) so the statement come to life has meaning.
