The Legend of Amu Bokato (Part-17) Even Amu is taxed By the time Amu Bokato finished narrating his sad love story, we were both quite drunk. A very long silence followed and I felt like I was sitting in a library. I was actually trying to digest all the important details of his legendary tale and he was probably trying hard not to cry because i saw him biting his lower lip. Inorder to lighten up the tensed atmosphere, I decided to crack a joke but I realised I only knew jokes about him and his adventures. So as to avoid this awkward moment, I asked Amu Bokato a question which had really been eating me up all these years... I blurted out- Amu did you really set up villages even in outer space? He right away replied, Ocourse! Infact I just recently came back from the moon after sowing all kinds of crops in my 2,00,000 Acre field. How do you think India is feeding her huge population? I supply the Govt. with my crops. I was quite amazed at this knowledge and I wanted to learn more so I said, Wow! Thats amazing! Im sure you make a lot of money then. He stared at me angrily and almost cried when he narrated me the following shocking facts~ Thut! You are just a child. You dont understand the kind of taxes I pay. First of all, those Marwaris are too darn good in business and its quite confusing how they always manage to trick me with their power of bargaining. Then, there is the various organisations in Nagaland whom I have to pay my taxes to. The National Workers/Freedom-Fighters are divided into so many different groups/factions that a quarter of the total agricultural produce is offered(willingly/unwillingly) to them. Next the Independent Unions/Student Unions/Business Unions/Colony Unions etc.. who almost extorts me and threatens they wont support me if I dont pay up my taxes to them incase I run into trouble someday. And then comes the Church, who comes knocking at my door every now and then for donations or fund-raises which I have to pay because eventhough Im not a good christian, I love and FEAR the Lord. And Ocourse I almost left out the nightmares of recieving Wedding Cards. Incase you dont know, weddings are the new business, which is flourishing with the passing of each day. A farmer like me cannot afford attending 5-10 weddings in a month because a plate of rice cost me atleast ₹1000 or more. So, in a month I roughly make around USD$1000000000000000 but when minusd by taxes I make exactly ₹20,000 per month. Thanks to ACAUT I now make one thousand extra. And all these organisations have even started taxing the aliens in Mars and other planets. That is why they are hiding from us. I was shocked to learn this whole new information from him but I wanted to learn even more so, I said, Amu, What about Neil Armstrong? Amu Bokato replied: Tchh.. How do you think I build this mansion? He offered me a good sum and I had no choice but to accept the bribe as I had no other source of income. He took the name and I took the money. The Legend continues...
