The Little Creeks and Rough Fescue Appreciation Society presented some preliminary findings from year 2 of its monitoring project. From the article: The non-profit society began the Horse Creek Water Quality Monitoring Project in 2012 as a means to educate the public about the impacts of land use and importance of water quality, said Leete. The goal is to maintain water quality in the creek for aquatic life, livestock drinking water and irrigation. She said a factor in the project has been the discharge of water from Cochrane Lake into Horse Creek at Township Road 264 – a Provincial order that came in August 2012 to lower water levels in the lake to avoid flooding in the MonTerra subdivision. #abwater #monitoring
